People have been talking about it for a while now...quite a long while actually. Only today that I really got the chance to read about it. I'm talking about The Tipping Point. It's the most used phrase in the business world; in the marketing world particularly.
It talks about how one dramatic moment in an epidemic could change everything. The better explanation to this could be "The moment of critical mass, the threshold, the boiling point, a place where the unexpected becomes expected, where radical change is more than possibility." Well, you can do your reading about tipping point here.
What I wanna talk about is really; what would be our tipping point? When do we get to our boiling point that we suddenly change and do things differently, or do different things altogether? Is mid-life crisis our tipping point? How long can we stand doing things the same way before we do them differently? How long does it take for the people of Malaysia to start standing on their own two feets? The Tipping Point talks about starting an epidemic. How can we build a more independent Malaysian citizen through this epidemic concept?
The Tipping Points also talks about the Law of the Few. The 3 key people that are needed to take us to a tipping point through the epidemic concept; the Connectors, the Mavens, and the Salespeople.
The concept is excellent, but Malcolm Gladwell forgot to mention that The Tipping Point concept does not work corrupted and bought society.
